Charles Summers
Principal / CEOCharles Summers joined Progea in 2011 as Principal and CEO. Mr. Summers has over 20 years of experience in comprehensive global M&A, due diligence, sustainability and environmental management — spanning 28 countries and six continents. Representative industry sectors include: upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas; utilities and infrastructure; commercial real estate; agricultural; finance; healthcare and medical technology; military; transportation; hospitality and public services.
Prior to joining Progea, Mr. Summers spent over a decade working at Archon Group and Goldman Sachs Group as a global environmental specialist in debt and equity transactions, primarily in Europe and Asia. Mr. Summers was ultimately responsible for quantifying environmental risk related to each transaction and presenting the financial and reputational risk analysis to deal teams and investment committees.
Mr. Summers earned his Geology Degree from Baylor University. He is a registered Professional Geoscientist and is also a LEED AP+. In his free time, Mr. Summers enjoys traveling with his family and sailing.
Dipl.-Ing. Meriem Tazir
Managing Director:Progea EMEA
Dipl.-Ing. Meriem Tazir joined Progea in 2011 and founded the Progea Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) office in Frankfurt, Germany. Mrs. Tazir has more than 18 years of international & management experience as a lead auditor in the fields of environmental site assessments, Merges & Acquisition, Due Diligence and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA). Representative industry sectors include: infrastructure; commercial real estate; finance; healthcare and medical technology; transportation and hospitality.
Mrs. Tazir studied economics and business at the University of Edinburgh Business School (MBA, Honors) and Civil Engineering at Technical University Darmstadt (Dipl.-Ing. with focus on environmental technologies).
Dr.-Ing. Maike Hora
Director of Operations:Progea EMEA
Dr.-Ing. Maike Hora doctorate (PhD) at the Technical University Darmstadt in the field of civil- and environmental engineering. Dr.-Ing. Maike Hora joined Progea in 2011 and is based in our office in Germany. She has more than 18 years of management experience as an environmental specialist in the infrastructure and real estate sector. Her focus of late has been environmental compliance assessments, Phase I ESA, Due Diligence, and hazardous building material surveys. Dr.-Ing.
Maike Hora has supported public entities and private companies in procurement procedures and project implementation based on US and European procedures, regulations and management rules.
Thomas Hall
PrincipalThomas Hall joined Progea in 2019 as a Principal, to lead the global Technical Services team. Mr. Hall is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and has over 13 years’ experience in international construction, due diligence and sustainability practices. Thomas’s experience includes equity level PCAs, assessments of technical due diligence (TDD), various types of pathological building surveys, contract administration, sustainability consulting and loan monitoring services. Representative industry sectors include, commercial and corporate real estate, multi-family, industrial, federal and local government, healthcare, transportation and hospitality.
Tom previously has worked at a number of top-tier and specialty consultancy practices with a focus on Technical Due Diligence, Property Condition Assessment and Core Building Surveying skills.
Luis Maldonado
Environmental Scientist:Central & South America
Mr. Maldonado has extensive experience in performing environmental and technical assessments in Central and South America. His primary areas of expertise include: transactional services for financial, oil & gas, and real estate clients. Mr. Maldonado also worked extensively on an inland desalination system project through CIDS at the University of Texas at El Paso and presented papers on mass transfer modeling of reverse osmosis permeate post-treatment by upflow calcite contactors.
Mr. Maldonado holds a Masters of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
